This is how I found Abbi's bowl yesterday morning after she'd finished... err... took a break from her breakfast. I know it's shocking, but, yes, Abbi sometimes takes a break from inhaling her food.
I think it's so cute when Abbi puts a friend in her bowl. Livia often does the same thing. While I know this behavior is left over from when cats lived in the wild and they had to hide their food to keep themselves and/or their hard-won kill safe, I think it's adorable when I see this behavior in my spoiled house babies.
Well, that's the nom bowl so I guess it's normal that the mousie ends up there ;-)

Good idea to put the toy in the food bowl. Makes it easier to find the toy when you want to play with it. Around here the mom says don't play with your food but nothing about a play toy in with the food.

Gracie, you're right - it's easier to find the toy. Wanna know something? Livia sometimes takes a toy in to the potty room with her! She drops it beside out potty and to keep her company when she goes. Lots of times, she forgets it there, and Mama teases her. :) Abbi
