Some un-furry people make Mew Year's resolutions. Kitties might do so, too, but if mine have made any, they're not telling. I've made a couple resolutions for 2013 involving the girls, with one in particular involving Abbi that she won't like at all!
Abbi's ongoing love affair with any and all food has made her a little bit chubby in the tummy. Even though she's not obese, I think something ought to be done. When I look down at my Brown Clown, I see the view shown second from right on the chart below.
I recently read through my pile of unread Cat Fancy magazines, and I came across an article about the importance of dental hygiene for cats. It was mentioned that many cats develop dental problems by age three. Everybody is over age three, so I figure, an ounce of prevention is better, so I'm going to brush the girls' teeth every week or two. I bought a pet dental kit for that purpose. I've tried it once already. Everybody handled it well with Livia being slightly offended, but she'll get over it.
Do you have any Mew Year's resolutions for your kitties?

They let you brush their teeth??? We love the taste of the toothpaste, but you can forget coming near our gums with a pet dental brush. LOL.
ReplyDeleteA very happy new year to you all!
They don't like it when I brush their teeth, but like the hair brushing they don't like, I tell them it must be done!
DeleteAside from Mewsette's resolution to not swipe my tools and materials off my work table when she's helping me, I believe their only other resolution is to get dinner a little earlier each day. But that's a resolution for me, not for themselves, so I don't know how it's going to work! Happy new year, happy weight loss and happy tooth brushing!
ReplyDeleteI would never let my human brush my teeth! Well, she could try but it would be messy!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a very Happy New Year!

Don't let Katie see this. She's been on a diet and soon has to go back for a "weigh-in." ...poor girl. Surrounded by Waffles...life is a challenge.
