A Great Cat Lover Has Gone To Rainbow Bridge

Kent Butler was an inspiration to so many cat writers and cat lovers. For those of you who never met Kent in one way or another, Kent Butler was the publisher of the free digital magazine, Catnip Chronicles.

One of Kent's other passions, in addition to cats, was punctuation.  He offered a free download of his Punctuation Power so all could improve themselves.

Kent worked very hard every month to get Catnip Chronicles out for all to enjoy. Click here if you're interested in reading Kent's last Catnip Chronicles.

It was a joy to post my work on the Catnip Chronicles Facebook page. It was an even greater joy when Kent would like or comment on what I'd con-tributed.  I suspect my fellow members of that group felt the same way.

Kent was posting items on that Facebook page twenty-one hours before his death the morning of Wednesday, February 6. It came as quite a shock to see his widow, Lee's posting about his passing. She said he didn't want an obituary, and I don't intend this to be an obituary; it's a tribute to a good man and a great cat lover.  No, I never knew Kent personally, but he touched my life.

As my late father so often said, when we die, besides the memories we leave behind, all we have left is a good name.  Kent left behind many good deeds and good works and a good name.  I wish Kent Butler great beauty and joy as he spends eternity in fields beyond Rainbow Bridge.

  2. Thank you so much for a wonderful tribute to a great man. I didn't know Kent personally either, but nonetheless he was a friend and a guiding light. The absence of his posts and emails is deeply felt by many, many people, and his family surrounded by all of our prayers during this sad time.

  5. Kent was the kind of person you didn't have to meet in person to feel his warmth and friendship. I am so sorry for his family and the sadness they must feel. The other side of the Rainbow Bridge will be even more perfect with his presence there.
