Goldie The Overweight Kitty Weighs In

I've been following the progress of Goldie's weight loss ever since he was taken in by Anne Klein of Backdoor Friends Purebred Cat Rescue last fall.  Goldie went to the veterinarian last week and Anne was told Goldie has lost three pounds since last October.  While he's still a big boy, he's healthy and happy.

The veterinarian mentioned putting Goldie on the new Hill's Prescription Diet Metabolic Advanced Weight Solution, but not until the veterinarian learns more about it.  In the mean time, Goldie has become increasingly more outgoing.  He loves to have his hair combed, making the sweetest little mews coming out of such a big kitty when he's combed.

Goldie is a testimony to slow but sure wins the race in cats.  It's very important to always take an overweight cat to a veterinarian before placing such a cat on a diet because losing too much too fast can cause serious health issues that can jeopardize a cat's life.

  1. That's great. I'm so happy Goldie is doing well, and that his weight is moving in the right direction. Slow and steady is definitely the best approach with overweight kitties.
