How To Do A Scan/Copy/Fax

If you've got a piece of office equipment that a cat takes a liking to, then you've got to learn how to work around your cat.  Ateret long ago decided one of her happy spots was the feeder/top of my all-on-one. Because she spends so much time there being the office nerd, she's had to learn to deal with interruptions for scanning, copying and faxing from the glass.

Here's how it's done:

I say, "Excuse me, Tay-Tay, Mama's got to use that." Ateret = denial.

I lift up the top and say, "Excuse me, Mr. Tailie!" Ateret stirs a bit.

I slide the paper onto the glass.  Ateret wakes up and supervises.

I put the top down.  Ateret's napping resumes.  Mr. Tailie relaxes.

I lift the top up, take paper out.  Ateret wakes up again and supervises.

I put the top down.  Ateret thinks about how inconvenient this was,
but not inconvenient enough to nap elsewhere.

  1. Lol - she's a great superviser! I think the two of you compromise pretty well :)

  3. Us cats work VERY hard at making you humans work even harder.
    It's a natural talent.

  5. It's still a shame that you would bother Ateret!

  6. That scenario looks like me on the pizza box! HAH! Our all in one is in a shelf in the hutch so I can't lay on it but TW still can hardly pry the top up.

  8. In our house all the fun office stuff belongs to the cats, but I get to borrow it. If I'm nice. And pay in treats.
