In a departure from our weekly Adoptable Cat Of The Week post, today, I'm sharing with you the story of a spunky, cute ten month-old gray short-haired kitten who literally had a bad break.
Rory is very energetic! His foster mother thinks he got hurt jumping down from a wall perch, getting a leg caught on the way down. The emergency veterinarian used by Backdoor Friends Purebred Cat Rescue of Farmington Hills, MI was able to surgically repair Rory's leg, but the surgery was very expensive at $3,000! Backdoor Friends seeks your help to pay for the cost of Rory's surgery. Rory's Fund donations may be dropped of at Backdoor Friends Cat Shoppe or mailed to their address, 35562 Grand River Ave., Farmington Hills, MI 48335.
Rory is recuperating at his foster mother's home getting less practice showing his spunky, energetic side, showing even more of the cuddly side he had in abundance before his accident. Rory is a lap cat who loves to be held, rocked and petted. He should be well enough by his first birthday on March 12, or soon after, to meet you and be your new best friend.
Rory is expected to make a full recovery without any limitations. He has tested negative for feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus, has been neutered and is up to date on routine vaccinations. For more information about Rory, or any of his friends, visit the Backdoor Friends Purebred Cat Rescue website, Petfinder page, their Facebook page, or contact them at 248-442-0840.
F.Y.I.! Backdoor Friends Customer Appreciation Week is this week: February 4th through 9th! They're giving customers who visit the Shoppe a chance to win 10%, 15%, 20% or 50% off their retail purchase. All customers may choose a prize at checkout of either a discount or a free gift. Another plus, for those of you who live in the area, is you get to visit with Sabrina, Mitzi and Anne. Oh, don't forget to bring your gently used shoes, because they're still collecting shoes for the needy, with all funds collected from those shoes going into the rescue to help rescue and care for cats like Rory.

Poor sweetie. I shared on Facebook and will tweet it out too.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Backdoor Friends helps cats, regardless of whether or not they're purebred. This was quite a huge expenditure. I feel odd asking for help, but this is something very important.
DeleteWe're purring for a complete recuperation for Rory!
