I admit it: My cats have more toys than they know what to do with, as in three baskets full of toys. Everybody has their favorites, too. Abbi loves clunky balls. Livia likes fuzzy falls and teaser toys. Ateret, too likes teaser toys. Everybody likes catnip. Things get lost, and Livia's got the memory of an elephant about what gets stuck where.
A lantern or flashlight and a long stick are used in my house. Kitty supervision is also a welcome plus.
Yesterday, Ateret, Livia, Abbi and I went looking in the kitchen and in my bedroom, checking things out in the usual places: under the stove, under the refrigerator and under my dresser. Abbi is always the first one to lend a paw in the kitchen. I figure this is so because the refrigerator generally yields ewdies, and she's always game for extra.
Nothing under the refrigerator or the stove, and nothing extra for Abbi's chubby tummy. So, on to the bedroom where we looked under my dresser. There's always something stuck there, and yesterday was no exception.
We found two balls and one yellow mouse. The fuzzy ball on the right is one of Livia's all-time favorites. The little ball is perfect for her to carry around in her mouth to play fetch. The ball on the left used to have fuzzy, pink pieces of Mylar sticking out, but it's been plucked bald by now.
Livia is very happy to have some friends back. I think a game of fetch is probably in order for tomorrow.

Our refrigerator (the big steel ham safe) is a treasure trove of goodies!
ReplyDeleteEvery time one is rescued it's like a toy is born again!
: ) Katie
Katie, do you ever wonder where the toys that disappeared have gone when your mommy can't find them? It bothers us. We know they're here some place!
Deleteps...Glogirly has not forgotten about the "project." We've got another photo shoot coming up!
ReplyDeleteHi, guys. I haven't forgotten, either. I've been doing my genealogical society duties. I'm the editor of a newsletter, and I've been focused on that and trying to finish up the two classes I took.
DeleteMy lil sister's favorite place to hide the toys is under the couch ;-)

Oh gosh there's toys all over the place here... more than once i've tripped over Clifford the Big Red Dog in the dark...not so much of a hunt here as a cleanup mission
ReplyDeleteThis happens a lot with my human baby's toys. But when we find lost ones, it's always like a brand new toy!
ReplyDeleteMowzers, our whole house is a trweasure trove thanks to maxie and hie penchant for carrying trinkets around and dropping them who-knows-where. We find treasure hunts FUNtabulous!
ReplyDeleteA safari! We love that name for hunting down all the toys that the fridge has eaten! :)
